SCL1 Sump Cleaner
Cleaning Procedure for Coolant Sump
Drain the entire coolant sump.
Remove all chips, tramp oils, and other solids from tank.
Fill the system with a mix of water and “SCL1” sump cleaner (approximately 50 gallons of water-to- 1 gallon of SCL1) and circulate the mix in machine for at least 1 hour. If the system is highly contaminated, circulate longer.
After the cleaner has been circulated for recommended time, drain the cleaner from the system.
Refill the system with enough water to circulate through the system to rinse out the cleaner and other residues. This is sometimes referred to as the rinse process and only needs to be circulated for approximately 5 minutes.
Drain the dirty water rinse from system.
Charge the system with the required amount of water.
Add the recommended amount of coolant to the water in the system to obtain the desired coolant machine mix.
Circulate the system to assure that the coolant mixes well.
